Tips for Security in the Office

- Have all valuables engraved with your business name
- Fit windows with security grills
- Install an automatic timer to turn lights on or off
- Install movement activated sensor lights around the premise so no one can lurk in the dark and staff can safely access their vehicles upon departure
- Fit External Doors with a deadlock or dead bolt (be sure to leave the key in the door in case of emergency exit)
- Install a monitored alarm and ensure your back up battery is services at least once every 2 years.
- If you have a large store window, install glass break detectors for immediate activation if the glass is smashed in.
- If shop/office is unattended for long periods, ensure your monitoring company is aware and you update your afterhours contact details
- If having goods delivered to your premise whilst, ensure it is left somewhere where it cannot be seen. A parcel at the door step indicates no one is on site.
- Ensure you answering machine does not provide evidence that you are away for an extended period.
- Insure your belongings with contents insurance. Most insurance companies offer reduced premiums for people with back to base monitored alarm systems
