What is Back to Base Monitoring?Back to base monitoring is a service that can be added to your new or existing security system that takes the onus away from your neighbours to notify authorities when your alarm sirens activate. As soon as any untoward activity is detected by your system i.e. power fail, intrusion, tamper switch etc. Your security system will automatically send a signal down your telephone line to the 24-hour monitoring centre. It’s then only a matter of seconds before one of the highly trained operators assess this information and depending on what signals they receive, can:
Monitoring Centre GradingWithin Australia, it’s important to find out if your security monitoring centre is graded under the Australian Standard AS2201 and that it is currently registered with the Australian Security Industry Association Limited (ASIAL). ASIAL grades security monitoring centres according to their internal security, their monitoring system integrity and their alarm action times. Building services and construction are graded on a scale from A to C ("A" being most resistant to attack). Operation, equipment and staff are graded on a scale from 1 to 3 ("1" having the highest performance). The most secure and technically capable stations are designated Grade A1. At Pacific Security Group can offer Grade A1 monitoring from Australia’s most comprehensive monitoring centres. This advanced network consists of eight Grade A1 monitoring centres throughout NSW, VIC, SA, QLD, WA, ACT and even NZ. All of these monitoring centres boast many impressive features that include:
Communication FormatsTo ensure complete peace of mind and to cater for all security applications we can provide numerous Communication formats to meet both your individual security and budget requirements. Dialler (Low Security)The security system utilises an existing telephone line at your premise, which automatically alerts the security monitoring centre when an alarm condition is detected. The monitoring centre (control room) will not be aware of any line faults or any deliberate attempts to cut the telephone line until a routine daily or weekly test signal isn’t received. You can choose the frequency of this test. Securitel (Medium Security)Whilst utilising an existing telephone line at your premise, Securitel has the added benefit of line supervision. The telephone line constantly sends signals to the monitoring centre every 15 to 45 seconds. As soon as these signals aren’t received, a line fault is detected and the monitoring centre will action this as an alarm. Securitel is not available in some areas. Direct Line (High Security)The security system is connected directly to our security monitoring centre via a dedicated privately leased landline. The monitoring centre constantly interrogates the landline by sending a signal to the security system every few seconds. As soon as a line fault is detected the monitoring centre will action this as an alarm. GSM (Back Up)A cellular GSM back-up unit will constantly monitor the telephone line that your security system is connected to and will switch to the GSM interface in the event of a line failure. The transmission of all alarm signals will then be sent via the GSM (mobile phone) network until the normal telephone line is reinstated. You can purchase your own SIM card via a number of special offers available at the time giving you complete control over your expenses. |
